Suzuki GSXR750 L 1990
Coming Soon -
Black & Grey 1990 Original immaculate low mileage 16,000.
Arguably the best of the oil-cooled models is distinguished by the first use of inverted forks (41mm, fully adjustable items) on a large capacity Japanese machine. It also saw a return to the long-stroke motor along with a new 4:1 exhaust, steering damper, 38mm carbs (up 2mm on the previous 'K' although 2 mm smaller than the R), smaller valves, new conrods, lighter pistons, a large capacity oil pump, a larger, curved oil cooler and a wider rear rim. Tyres were now Michelin radials as standard while power was up to 115bhp at 11,000rpm with weight was back down to 193kg.
Somewhat of a legendary design, this engine was used in various trims of tune across a broad variety of Suzuki bikes, of the 80’s & 90’s.
Known for its incredible reliability, its power output & its tuning abilities.
The 90’s saw the GSXR’s pretty much ‘take over’ the tuning scene & particularly the Streetfighter scene of the 90’s and 2000’s.
The GSXR also lent itself to this scene as it has a very attractive cradle style frame & the engine also looked great which meant often the fairings were removed, frames polished, engines turbo charged & so on.
Because of the popularity of the GSXR as a base for a ‘Streetfighter’ & the fact they were an unforgiving animal which meant many ended up crashed, today an original & low mileage GSXR Slingshot is extremely hard to find.
