TVR Vixen S3 2500 1972

Details

TVR offered a replacement for its V6 powered Vixen-Tuscan models in 1971, the new TVR 2500. The TVR 2500 used the tried and tested Triumph TR6 engine and gearbox which was already well established in the all important US market. The TR6's popularity in the US meant that the running gear was already homologated to meet all of the stringent emission laws, a real help for this small Blackpool company!

Due to the emission equipment the 2.5 litre six cylinder engine developed a modest 106bhp, although this was enough to deliver a top speed of over 110mph and a fuel consumption of around 30mpg. Like the other TVR's of this period the 2500 only remained in production for twelve months after 385 cars had been built.

Most TVR 2500’s went to the US, very rare in RHD, UK car
