Car History
The Car was last Taxed in 1990 and dry stored since.
The chassis appears to be solid except for the corners of the outriggers just behind the front wheels.
The Engine has been started and sounds ok. Oil and water stay where they should.
Model History
TVR offered a replacement for its V6 powered Vixen-Tuscan models in 1971, the new TVR 2500. The TVR 2500 used the tried and tested Triumph TR6 engine and gearbox which was already well established in the all important US market. The TR6's popularity in the US meant that the running gear was already homologated to meet all of the stringent emission laws, a real help for this small Blackpool company!
Due to the emission equipment the 2.5 litre six cylinder engine developed a modest 106bhp, although this was enough to deliver a top speed of over 110mph and a fuel consumption of around 30mpg.
The 2500 started production in late 1970. 8 ordered in 1970, 237 ordered in 1971 and 44 in 1972. All 289 cars made with the Vixen chassis.
Most TVR 2500’s went to the US, very rare in RHD, UK car
